Well, after my horrific run on betfair poker I joined pokerstars and I posted about two months ago about my intitial good start. (This will end up being a long post because I'm gutted to be honest)
First game I bought in for $100 at a $0.50/$1.0 table and ended up with a cool $980+
Played at stars since then and had one or two bad weeks but the important thing is I'm up...not great profits but still nice to be up overall.
Anyway, I never went out tonight so I decided I'd have a good session on the poker.
Out of sheer curiousity just to see if it was a very unlucky run I had at betfair I decided to play there.
I've only been playing one table at a time so I buy in for a 6 handed $0.50/$1.0 table. My style of play is to vary up how I play through the game, so I'll spend quite a while playing very tight and folding a lot pre flop then I'll go for a little spell of raising a lot with next to nothing to take a few pots down before the river before resorting back to playing tight again- I think the variety works well for me.
Anyway, the game never started well, hadn't played many hands and was at $93 after about an hour so I decided to try a little move. I raised from the BB with 9s 7s after 2 players plus the SB had all limped in (a move I like to do because no one has raised and a big pre flop raise can often take down the pot if you don't over do it)...
Anyway, the dealer button is the only calls and the flop comes 8s 6s Qd
Usually I'll take advantage of being first to act to steal the pot there and then- if he has Q 10 (anything better he maybe would have raised from the button) most players will let the top pair go there as there's too many hands I could have here.
But, he makes it awkwardand flat calls. Turn comes the 3h...
No reads on this player and he hadn't been involved in much but I eventually decide to bet again for half the pot to continue the pressure- unless he is slow playing a set, representing AQ should have him beat most of the time... He calls again and the river comes 4c and no help at all...
If I check now he's gonna steal it so I try and still represnt AQ at least here and bet half the pot- make it look like I'm going for a bit of value and he calls with fucking Ah 9d....
I'd played very tight up to this point so his actions defy logic really as very rarely is ace high- with a 9 kicker of all cards going to be good against me here.
Anyway, we end up trading obscenties over the hand, he reckoned I'd made it obvious I had nothing- but surely he realised if I had an ace myself, I would have beaten him with a higher kicker...
Anyway, so caught out bluffing, so we play on and and this guy now takes it upon himself to call every raise I make, which depending on the cards I get will be good or bad.
Half an hour or so later he raises pre flop to 3BB and I have JJ and raise it up to $9. It makes the pot heads up and the flops comes
Jh 7d Tc
He's first to act and comes out with a quarter pot bet and there's no way I put him on a flopped straight so I push (wouldn't play it like that normally but I'd been moaning at him for calling all my raises with nothing and I know he's going to call)...
He makes the call with for his entire stack with Ah 9c...
Both all in and the turn comes an 8, straight away, he hits the gut shot...
First all in and I get sucked out again after flopping a set. I know it happens but never in my life will I believe that this site's poker room is fair to all players.
I decide to do one more buy in because I'd worked there to make him call, my image to him was one of a bluffer and I got him all in with nothing more than a gut shot...
So I re load for another $100 and what do you know I get dealt pocket AA
I'm in the blinds and one player makes a 3.50BB raise and villain calls it and I think fuck it let's see how much this site has it on for me...
So I push, original raiser folds and he calls- with AQ suited....
Flop comes Q Q 7 and I get no help and there you go.
The fact I ran so badly at betfair, played at pokerstars for about 2 or 3 months and done quite well then try on session at betfair and lose two buy ins within 3 hours to a gut shot straight draw on the flop and AA vs QA all in pre flop....you seriously have to question the integrity of the site IMHO.
Could it just be freakish coincidence?????
JJH I play at Paddy power god knows why
My night has been pretty much the same. I was playing in a $6 rebuy MTT earlier and doubled up on the first hand. I thought it was goig to be a good one but just run crap from there on in. I was hitting nothing on the flops and being called by the most ridiculus hands but they was always sucking out.
In one hand I was dealt JJ and raised 3XBB from 100 to 300 I am in mid position and it has folded to me. I get one caller who is just before the CO. Flop comes 10,7,4 rainbow doesn't seem to scary to me so I put in a bet of 400 the other caller only has 970 left and goes all in. My first thought was A,10 so I called he turns over 10,7off. I bought in about 3 times and just kept running so bad. Even the other players were comenting on how unlucky I was after my K,10 flop 3,K,10 gets beat by a gut shot Q on the river with somebody pushing with A,J
I just played sod all for about the next 15 hands watching everyone on the table go all in with their A,7's or K,10 but they never seemed to lose. After the break I purchased an add on and I think my moral was so defeated I pushed with A,K suited and was called by A,8 I hit no king and he hits an 8 on the turn.
Me thinks a break from poker is in order that or just play on a decent site
JJH ....please dont take this the wrong way but....
....what you are looking for doesn`t exist...there is no magical site!
Secondly...If you continue to make it a personal thing ...you are doomed to lose....IMO
And finaly... your game as well as your mental outlook definately needs work so don`t get angry ....get a grip and then.....get ahead.

I can give you contact details for a good small stakes coach if you want? It might be worth considering coaching as a way of improving your game.
Walking away is easy. The hard part is standing up.
How do you know that Lee...?
forget that - join cardrunners. job done, and it's damn cheap. It has made me A LOT of profit since I joined 2 months ago. you won't be playing donkey stakes for long imo.
try to involved in analysing your game FTW- you can no doubt modify your play style (perhaps play as a rock on full ring tables for example, ) to try to minimise neg variance.
