Hello
I've been playing "live" hold 'em down the pub for a while now, with the occasional casino game here and there, and have recently decided to enter the world of online poker. I've played it a few times, but have tended to get bored after a while since, to me, poker should involve "face-to-face" contact, if you get my drift.
So, can people tell me how online strategies differ from "live" strategies? For instance, how do you read a bluff in the absence of any body language?
Much obliged
(PS - I see that there's a freeroll tournament on poker.co.uk at the mo. Is it to late to get the minimum of two posts in? (fingers crossed!))

Hopefully I've done that on the bad beats thread.
One thing I've found online is that I seem more "detached" from my cards...there's cards that I would never play in a cash game in early position (e.g. 6-7 offsuit) but online they look more inviting, for some reason. I suppose I have to adjust my psychology a little bit...

haha, that's my old avatar! Nice work.
Walking away is easy. The hard part is standing up.
Nice to see I'm upholding some sort of tradition.
I wonder what advice Joe Strummer would have given me?

Theres a solitary man crying, hold me.
Its only because hes a-lonely
If the keeper of time runs slowly
He wont be alive for long!
If he only had time to tell of all of the things he planned
With a card up his sleeve, what would he achieve?
It means nothing!
To the opium den and the barroom gin
In the belmont chair playing violins
The gamblers face cracks into a grin
As he lays down the king of spades
But the dealer just stares
Theres something wrong here, he thinks
The gambler is seized and forced to his knees
And shot dead
He only wanted more time
Away from the darkest door
But his luck it gave in
As the dawn light crept in
And he lay on the floor
From the hundred year war to the crimea
With a lance and a musket and a roman spear
To all of the men who have stood with no fear
In the service of the king
Before you met your fate be sure you
Did not forsake your lover
May not be around anymore
Walking away is easy. The hard part is standing up.
You mean, he wouldn't have said "Death or glory"?
