I am surprised no one caught on earlier.. has been a month since the tourny ended and only today they announce there is to be an official investigation..

Who ever is responsible could have gotten away with this for years taking just small amounts over a long time.. typical greed again gave their game away.. Taking a 600K pot cheating was not the smartest idea..

Its more frigtening that people are only just realising it would be possible to see everyone hands, regardless of if the software has some 'super' mode or not.. if you are sitting at the physical server hosting the game you could easily see who is doing what.

I bet server admins could inject numbers into roulette etc just as simple too.. If you have full physical access or even root remote access its only down to how far you want to manipulate the software controling the games.

Man it looks really fun to be playing in that account. On one hand he could see the BB had KK and he still limped UTG with 84o or something, then folded to the KK's raise. Not sure why he limped in the first place.

It is MUCH bigger than just this. This tournament was just one instance of the cheating. However the high stakes cash players in both LHE & NLHE were getting cheated too in heads up games for quite a while. It's only in the last month that the cheating has been so blatent.

Who's to say how long it's been going on for and how many victims there have been. I know if I had that account I would not be so blatant.

Yep, id cover up their cards and play my normal game. If a big pot brewed and i had a tough decision id just peek at their cards.

Well, you could have made a lot of money out of this without being so BLATANT omg.

I can't believe the excuse Absolute have come up with now they've been caught. Absolutely laughable.

They are saying that an employee wanted to prove to management that it was possible to hack the software, and that this employee never had any intention to keep the money - they just wanted to prove a point...

lmao!!! How stupid do the management at Absolute think we are?

Has the world gone mad in an apathetic kind of way? Cheating and ripping off customers is FRAUD, not 'naughtiness' or 'a misdemeanour'. I would have found the above story unbelievable except that the BBC and now ITV have done the same to competition phone-in viewers to the tune of millions of £s and Michael Grade (head of ITV) just says sorry and it won't happen again! As if exec producers like Ant & Dec didn't know! But no one seems to care that it's FRAUD. One would think that the Absolute scandal would have tainted the online gaming community, but too many people just don't bat an eyelid nowadays.

Nice first post there mate, informative and interesting. The gambling commission should be on top of their game now.
