I've ditched this hand preflop myself, even from the BB.
Should I fold this pre-flop? I called because the raiser is deep so we have a chance to get a lot of chips and because we have enough to flick in the 1800 but we essentially only have two workable hands here, or even one as the fours are prob just going to get us in trouble, still i'm a sucker for potential nut makers.
With this flop do you like my check raise or should i just be looking to peel one, or even lead at this with pot??
I'm really just feeling my way into omaha tournaments at the moment so any advice appreciated.

Yeah, your hand is pretty weak i'd probably just let it go preflop - you can't flop a strong draw and a drawing to bottom set will often get you in trouble.
I think you can get looked up reasonably light here on the flop too. ...but then again, it's omaha...lets GAMBOOOOLLL!!
What stage of the tourney is this? Final 5?
Walking away is easy. The hard part is standing up.
No as this was a $5 re-buy there were still about 60 players left IIRC. I was, thanks to a maniac in for the minimum ($15.50). He called my re-raise with Ad-Ah-Qx-8d and I wiffed the turn and river. According to cardplayer odds calculator i'm a 52-48 favourite!
Still I agree my pre-flop play is iffy. Still good news for Woody and Steve tonight!

I remember the hand, sir. After you called my preflop raise and I saw the flop, I had you on a draw and made the correct bet and call. It is true that I got (slightly) lucky by avoiding your flush/straight outs. Sadly, I came in 10th after chipleading the tourney for over two hours, with a 3-1 chiplead on second for much of that time. I went out in a nut flush/straight draw much like yours against a two pair. That's the game, and a sick game it is.
Good luck,
-Kismet

Also: When you say I was "a maniac in for the minimum" it implies that (financially) this effected my play. It did not. I've played in 100s of rebuys (ranging from $3r to $50r) and have dumped anywhere from the bare minimum (this tourney for example, I tripled up my first hand, no need to rebuy) to 12 rebuys (or more) and still play the exact same style. I would have made the same call in a $1000 freezout. I never play heartless Omaha, or any form of poker for that matter. I always assume the role of table captain as soon as I sit down and when it counts, I get my money in with the best of it.
That's how I win.
hehe, I google my name too to see if I can find myself on any forums!!
Welcome to the forum. Do you play primarily Omaha? I recognize your name from somewhere, it might well be another forum though rather than from the tables.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the analysis, always nice to hear the thought process of the other person in the hand. Sorry for the confusion but I wasn't referring to you when I mentioned the maniac. There was a player on my starting table who played damn near every hand (100% VPIP FTW hey Woody!) and I got a lot of chips from him, hence me being in for the minimum.
