    Default a micro stakes challange

Okay so the challange goes like this: you have to play 100 hands at micro stakes (any stake less than NL10) and you must have a VPIP of 100 after 100 hands (remember you must raise your BB if it's limped you!). Whoever wins the most money wins. To make it a bit more interesting I think everyone should put like $100 into a pot for the winner.

    What do you reckon?

vpip of 100, that means playing every hand -or at least limping into every hand right? I don't play enough cash to have a pokertracker sub, so record keeping would be tough. Not up for $100 but would do $25ish, maybe $50 tops.

You get 1k hands for free if you just download the software so you could still use it. Poker tracker would be a prerequistie for doing the challange so we can have a method of validating our results.

As for the $100 thing, how about we have 4 $25 pots. You can enter as many of them as you like and win as many as you enter? Kind of like having a last longer bet with multiple people.

yeah i've already used the 1k hands up. I was planning on getting it at some point, but not sure if i want in or not. Certainly can't do it this week so prob best to go ahead without me.

I just failed, accidentally folded the 30th hand. 61 PTBB/100 until then though.

I'll probably give this a go tonight. It's really tough sometimes to not fold, just because so we are so conditioned to making these decisions. I find remembering to raise my BB the tough bit.

I do think there are some interesting lessons to be learned here though, I'm pretty sure I could end up a winner over a decent sample playing > 90% of hands at micro stakes. I wonder up to what level that would be true? I'm tempted to start at NL6 an move up level by level playing this way until I think I can't beat it anymore. I think NL25 will be tough to beat but not impossible, I don't think I could beat NL50.

    Post flop play ftw!

Phil - Just carry on. Lets say VPIP >90 as not folding is so tough. I don't think there is much difference between 90 & 100 to be fair (apart from being able to fold to PFAI's).

Wow, this really wasn't as easy as I expected. The main problem was that the bastards all started adjusting to me and limp pushing there good hands safe in the knowledge that I would never fold preflop. So on the one hand...

    Seat 1: jigfam1 ($6.15 in chips)
Seat 2: SooSick ($5.19 in chips)
Seat 3: Bobafett ($5.20 in chips)
Seat 4: Woody ($6.72 in chips)
    Seat 5: aprika1 ($5.88 in chips)
Seat 6: JackThree ($6.76 in chips)
    aprika1: posts small blind $0.03
    JackThree: posts big blind $0.06
    ----- HOLE CARDS -----
    dealt to Woody [J 8]
    jigfam1: calls $0.06
    SooSick: calls $0.06
    Bobafett: calls $0.06
    Woody: raises to $0.52
    aprika1: folds
    JackThree: folds
    jigfam1: calls $0.46
SooSick: raises to $5.19 and is all-in
    Bobafett: folds
    Woody: calls $4.67
    jigfam1: folds
    ----- FLOP ----- [3 9 A]
    ----- TURN ----- [3 9 A][2]
    ----- RIVER ----- [3 9 A 2][2]
    ----- SHOW DOWN -----
SooSick: shows [A K] (Two Pairs, Aces and Twos, King high)
Woody: shows [J 8] (A Pair of Twos, Ace high)
SooSick collected $10.50 from Main pot

    ...but on the other....

Seat 1: Baskeri ($2.51 in chips)
Seat 2: mickejag ($7.21 in chips)
    Seat 3: noza89 ($10.65 in chips)
    Seat 4: westclox1 ($12.09 in chips)
Seat 5: Woody ($5.94 in chips)
Seat 6: Jupe ($3.91 in chips)
    mickejag: posts small blind $0.03
    noza89: posts big blind $0.06
    ----- HOLE CARDS -----
    dealt to Woody [K K]
    westclox1: calls $0.06
    Woody: raises to $0.36
    Jupe: folds
    Baskeri: folds
mickejag: raises to $7.21 and is all-in
    noza89: folds
    westclox1: folds
    Woody: is all-in $5.58
Returned uncalled bets $1.27 to mickejag
    ----- FLOP ----- [5 2 6]
    ----- TURN ----- [5 2 6][K]
    ----- RIVER ----- [5 2 6 K][3]
    ----- SHOW DOWN -----
mickejag: shows [A Q] (High Card Ace)
Woody: shows [K K] (Three of a kind, Kings, Six high)

Saying that, 100% vpip is frigging impossible. I tried my best and I called all in bets with things like 95o but when chatting on msn or something, auto pilot takes over and you find your self accedently folding hands, or not raising in the BB or whatever. So 90+ to qualify I think is fair.

Anyway, enough excuses, here are my results (5 hands over cause of the real time PT import time lag):

I know I can do better. Next level NL10, if successful there then it's NL25....
