I can assure you it was nothing to do with me! Nick came back just in time in fact...I had a above average stack (6k) 10 mins before he got back but was down to about 3.5k with a 4k average stack when he returned!!
Well done mate that's an awesome result!! Any key hands of interest? |

hey mate, Really sorry i forgot to mention you in the post last night, was understandably buzzing but knackered too. Woody held the fort for the first two hours whilst i was playing an lpl final. I only ran one bluff - which i've posted below... The biggest hand came at 600-1200, about 100 players left i'm avg with a c.24k stack and opened queens utg for 4k with QQ a player in mid pos, shipped for 14k and chip leader at the table flat called on the button! ffs! I poooshed the extra chips in and he obv called. i was up agiasnt A-K and A-Q, queen on the flop. Ship the chip lead and with 60k i didn't play another signinficant pot, i got walks and raised in LP the odd occasion but from 69 players left I literally didn't play another pot cos I had no need to. I bled down to 46k which was still good for 12th/50 when it finished. haha, min raise bluffs ftw!!
Mate you did all the work, I really didn't do anything so any credit is 100% all yours. By the time you got back I just wanted to go to bed anyway! I played a sat for walty too and ended up busting 10th with the top 6 getting seats. I tend to struggle in the early mid stages of a tournament anyway I think. I found the first hour really easy, starting blinds of 5/10 and 2,500 stacks meant it played much more like a cash game and I was very comfortable. I then tend to struggle a bit, especially with relative hand values and aggression levels, in the transition from 80bb poker down until you get to STT style shortstack poker. Also I haven't played 9 handed for quite a while too so probably played a little on the tighter side, in fact I was only playing premiums from EP and MP and was playing 90% of my hands from round the back. Playing in both these games, and my £2 MTT the other day, has whetted my appetite for tournament poker a little bit tho. Maybe I will make an attempt to try and improve my game in this area a bit. I sure as fuck with I was going to Aruba with you thats for sure!! Anyway, well done again. Did you win the lpl too btw? |

LPL we came 2nd. Was pretty sick, 4 handed i raised btn with queens to 3k (blinds 4/800), small blinds shoves for 4950, bb shoves for less, i insta (we have a 17k stack). I'm against A-K and A-J, we win this pot it's over as other team has c.6k, ace spikes HU we have a lead but to be fair to the other team they get their money in good a couple of times and it swings back and forth, before blinds get silly and we're in the lead again and get it all in A-2 vs 8-4, they hit an 8 next hand it's all-in again and we can't suck out. |
