Hi all
As those who've read Pete's article will already be aware of, Poker.co.uk are going to invite one lucky player each month to come and play with the team. I have decided to step down from playing the Main Events (not good enough We are going to put together a formula (suggestions welcome!) as to how to pick our guest player. In the meantime, we have already picked 2 players to join us on forthcoming events: Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, £1000 + £50 Main Event, Brighton, Thursday 17th > Sunday 20th May. Guest player: Paul Munday - poker.co.uk nickname: paulqs Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, £1000 + £50 Main Event, Newcastle, Thursday 19th > Sunday 22nd July. Guest player: alexross1977 - poker.co.uk nickname: alexross There are several ways we could choose a player - e.g. Best MTT results over 1 month, Best STT results over 1 month, Best total profit over 1 month, Highest raking player. Or we could create a formula that takes into account more than one of the above criteria. We could even create a list of the top 10 players who then play an STT to decide who will be joining the team on their next outing. Either way, it's going to be a lot of fun! A player who qualifies to join the team will have their buy-in paid to the Main Event. There is no reason why we can't give the runners-up buy-ins to the smaller events. The lucky player(s) will get to go to a meal before the game (if their nerves mean they are able to eat!) and discuss big tournament strategy with the resident pro's (Dan Carter, Pete Singleton, and Lucy Rokach). Anyway, that's the vague skeleton of the idea so far. Feedback, comments and suggestions all welcome Thanks Matt

Well perhaps you can use this for people on your site. Maybe a TLB.
Or maybe get a list of the highest raked players for your site.

Surely the best way would be the same way as Paul Munday qualified. What did Paul do to qualify?

No point doing a tournament leaderboard till after the fix IMO. Am i right in assuming its a poker.co.uk player and not a gambling.co.uk forum user. Maybe the players should be encouraged to post more on the fourm |

Sounds good!
One thing you could do is set up a weekly or even daily, MTT where say the top 10% get points and then the league winner after a month wins the seat. (Dunno if that'd be too much work though) That would probably attract new players to the site aswell if it was a specific "team poker.co.uk" tournament to play in. Highest raking player, highest profit, etc can probably afford to buy-in to these tournaments anyway I would have thought? (maybe wrongly) Whereas MTT's would give a chance to low life scum such as me!! On the other hand choosing the player by highest profit, etc would probably get a better standard of player to represent the site |
