    Default A hand for review

We are five handed, effective stacks are $100. The CO is a very loose and aggressive opening a lot of hands and making lots of continuation bets, sometimes on multiple streets. His stats are 36/29 over about 70 hands at the table.

UTG folds, CO raises to $4, button and SB fold, I call in the BB with 64.

    Flop 6A3

    I check, CO bets $7, I call.

    Turn 4

I check, CO bets $13, I make it $36, he pushes for $90 total and I call.

How did I play the hand? What hand(s) do you think he might have?

Are we assuming the blinds are 0.50/1?

Considering the type of player he is i dont mind the way you played this. Putting him on a hand with such a wide range is sometimes hard. However he may have been playing a semi decent hand this time. Maybe overplaying AK or some trash like that. I would rule out a set as most fish check the flop hoping to trap. If he has 5,2 i will wet myself

Personally, I dont mind this play but I'd like something a tad stronger to stick my whole stack in against a player who can have anything. Aces up here and I'll play this exactly the way you did, but with middle two I'm not so sure.

I might just call the turn and call the river bet / bluff, unless I improve. Then get involved with something stronger at a later time.

I see this happen all the time, some loose aggressive type fish raises way too often and then once u hit something against him he tends to have the goods.

Yes there are fishy players at 5/10, you being a prime example.

Calling from BB is OK. I would have bet post-flop, rather than checking, though. You've hit mid pair and you would also be representing the A.

    His range is huge!

Don't tell me he had 52 and you rivered the 6???

    Cheers

Yeah i bet the flop about $6, but im fine with the turn action, hoping he hasnt got 2 pair with ace rag. He must have some hand though if he's going over the top of a substantial re-raise by you. However giving his range and the amount in middle i call too

Why? (Not necessarily against this, just interested in the reasons for doing it)

Woody I think you played it ok against that kind of player. With the turn call you'll probably be behind a fair bit, just about every hand that beats you is in their range here but so are some bigger one-pair aces (and maybe smaller ones too) and there's always a few bluffs in there when people lose the plot a bit. Getting about 2.7-1 looks good enough for me here.

Looking at the flop call though, what was your plan for the turn if you hadn't improved? Floating OOP can be a very difficult line to play, but you could reasonably expect to have the best hand pretty often too when a LAG has opened from the CO.

I'm surprised people think I played this okay, I actually think it's pretty bad.

Its because of the way you said the player was LAG. This play is OK regarding the way he has played. Any other player and i would have rammed your ski mask up your ass for being a donkey

Why is my play okay because he's a LAG? I think I like my line less because he's LAG.

Against LAG players 2 pair is normally good enough as they tend to bluff with shit.

From a few hands i played back last week against a LAG player i have noticed on fairly safe boards like this i become a calling station till the river. Then when they fire the 3rd bullet i re raise and get those g's
