Just won the $20. I was lucky though, at one point beating his QQ with my J5 all in pre-flop.

Nice one mate, whens the next round?
How are you coping with the upper levels? Is there much change in the calibre of the players yet?
How close are you to coping out and cashing out ?
Waltypies:Haggis i wish you were here now so i could kiss you
Waltypies:I think Carters sis is more of a long term thing. My sis is just a one nighter i reckon
Lucky_scrote: DAMNIT, I was looking forwards to some mod abuse! I'd like to abuse you especially Haggis.

It's taking too long to grind them down too which means they have more chances of swinging back a huge pot as the blinds increase. At the lower levels you can grind them down quickly and with little risk. The blind aggression people seem to solely exist at the $5 and $10 games, although they'll probably re-emerge at some point.Originally Posted by Haggis

I think the wisest thing would be to cop out everytime you get to a new level. So if you kept winning you'd go like $3, $3, $5, $3, $5, $10, $3, $5, $10, $10, $3, $5, $10, $10, $20, because then you never find yourself in a situation where you are totally out of your depth money-wise, which I would definitely be at 300, 200 and 100.

If you watch me play you'd see I never fold a single hand on the first level pre-flop either in small blind or to a min-raise because you always have at least 25% odds of winning pre-flop if you consider implied odds. Often you can re-raise the pot on the river with a straight or a flush, on the very first level, crippling them and basically sealing the victory, and all because you called their min-raise with 52o. I only play "tight aggressive" in these games when I have a big but vulnerable hand that needs to be aggressed, like AA, and you don't often get premiums so that play doesnt come about too often. I think if you play aggressive all the time you will get trapped, it's just a matter of time. Most of the time these aggressive players will call a pot re-raise because they think you're just getting aggravated at being raised and have nothing yourself. That's what happened the first time I got to level 4. I had J6, the flop came rags after he'd raised pot pre-flop. He bets pot again and I call it then re-raise all in on the turn, and he calls with Q6 and wins the game with Q high. So all you need to beat the aggressive players is often a weak pair or ace high.

Lost the $30 game.I was crushing him the whole game too but just had a dry spell of cards for the last 10 minutes and then the blinds turned it into a lottery.
