$.50/$1 NL, full ring but with some empty seats. I think it was about 7 handed.
1 limper in MP, I make it $5 in the CO with 67
. Donk on the button calls, MP calls. Flop comes Q 7 4 rainbow, MP checks, I bet $9, button calls and MP folds. Turn is another 7, I lead out for $16, button min-raises. I have ~$70 left and the button covers. What's your play?
Do you think you're ahead here?
I don't know. The button's range is pretty big pre-flop, they are a donk. With the turn raise they certainly have something, but that could be as weak as a small PP or as strong as Q7 (maybe even QQ, but unlikely). A bigger 7 is very possible.Originally Posted by PokerWoody
Okay, I wasn't sure when you said donk what particualr variety of equine we were talking about.
In that case I call this bet then block the river, he'll will call your river bet with any worse hand he will min raise the turn with. I think you will frequently be behind here but not enough that we should fold, i've seen donks table AA in spots like this before.
If a bigger 7 is 'very possible' then I'd call the bet and see what the river brings.
Check the river and then call his bet unless he moves all in or bets too much. I say this because you want to stay in the pot with that hand, but don't want to build it too big IMO.
I did call the turn.
The river was horrible, another Q.
I checked, he pushed, I folded.
