I think he has a mid sized spade, hence i fold.
Right. What have you got?
"Three pairs."
What d'you mean three pairs? You're only allowed five cards!
"Oh. Shit! Er, two pairs. Well, two and a half pairs."

Yeah could be. That's how poker works. But from what I can tell putting my stack on the line is the only way I'm going to walk out of this hand with a profit. Is this a live hand from the Midland Masters? If it's live I'd think about checking it depending on how my opponents acted. I would never represent a spade on the turn though since presumably if you have a spade at all it'll be a fairly big one, probably the ace (cos you raised pre-flop) and why would you bet there with the nuts, when probably your opponents are drawing dead. So yeah, if I did check I would definitely give up on the turn unless there was some major weakness being shown.

I think that if your plan is to bluff any flop then a better plan is pushing preflop.Originally Posted by Dice Man
Yeah it was tempting to push preflop however the one guy UTG was very sneaky and i thought he may have had a big hand so i wanted to give a tempting raise to see exactly where i was with him.Originally Posted by PokerWoody
When he called i knew i was instantly behind. However the flop did not help him one bit hence thats why he checked. To be honest i think UTG and myself on the button were a little bit worried about the SB due to him being a bit loose and he would have called with suited connectors or a small pair.
However this was a really nasty hand and i folded my hand face up to the SB. He did go a little mad when the dealer accidently exposed the 2 cards to the BB when he lifted them. However the BB said he did not see them and i did not either!! MAybe i should have called a ruling to show them.

Yeah a 12x raise isn't that unreasonable with a limper. I think people (including myself) often give under the gun limpers too much respect. In my experience under the gun limpers don't really know that they should be playing tighter in that position and are the same people who will limp anywhere on the table, not really understanding position at all.Originally Posted by PokerWoody
