I only let things slip if there's no chance of credit being gained by me. I think in this example you have to call with AA, which you did. The mistake is only in having so much on the table to begin with. To be honest if I took most of it off the table, picked up AA and tripled up with it I wouldn't even regret taking it off. But then I never regret anything so that's not surprising.
