    Default Rvier betting advice

$0.25/$0.50 NL cash game. I know player is TAG and is patient. He raises pre flop and I call with and 5h 6h. Maybe that was my first mistake...

    Anyway-

Game [113693] started with 8 players.
    [Nov 17 20:05:13] : Dealing Hole Cards.
    [Nov 17 20:05:13] : Seat 9 : Harold S has 5h 6h
    [Nov 17 20:05:16] : flyweight51 folded.
    [Nov 17 20:05:16] : justplayit folded.
    [Nov 17 20:05:18] : Harold S called $0.50
    [Nov 17 20:05:19] : ikohasson called $0.50
    [Nov 17 20:05:19] : Mikey250 folded.
    [Nov 17 20:05:24] : desjardan called $0.50 and raised $1
    [Nov 17 20:05:26] : fsh222 folded.
    [Nov 17 20:05:28] : meandbabe folded.
    [Nov 17 20:05:31] : Harold S called $1
    [Nov 17 20:05:33] : ikohasson folded.
    [Nov 17 20:05:33] : Dealing flop.
    [Nov 17 20:05:33] : Board cards [Jh 8d Qh]
    [Nov 17 20:05:39] : Harold S bet $2
    [Nov 17 20:05:45] : desjardan called $2
    [Nov 17 20:05:46] : Dealing turn.
    [Nov 17 20:05:46] : Board cards [Jh 8d Qh 4h]
    [Nov 17 20:05:50] : Harold S bet $6
    [Nov 17 20:05:55] : desjardan called $6
    [Nov 17 20:05:56] : Dealing river.
    [Nov 17 20:05:56] : Board cards [Jh 8d Qh 4h 5c]

What do I bet here? Pot is currently at $19.50.

I'll tell you what I did afterwards but interested to think how I progress from here. I know the player is tight and his calling on the turn- I mean I play tight myself so I felt he must have had something decent himself.

Then again, I know he bets strong when he hits a hand and tries to get a smuch value as possible- so why no raise on the turn if he has hit a better flush than me?

Stop limp calling SC's preflop...seriously! I don't get how you think you have a tight image but limp call with crap like this!! Also, the action is soooo hard to read in this format.

I reckon bet $9 and fold to a raise seems alright to me (if i'm reading the action right!) I don't think he'll bet a worse hand if you check but he might just call.

I'm gonna sound silly here, but I've seen many hand histories from you guys, and many call with suited connectors.

I think varying your game like that helps in many ways. I don't always call pre flop, but do sometimes, sometimes I'd raise with that. To be honest, since I've started playing like that, I've been winning a lot more than when I just play premium hands!

Just playing and raising AK (AQ etc) all the time is too easy to read IMO- a hand like 56, if it makes on the flop, it is going to win a big pot because it so unexpected that a player would call with that.
