Ok into a cash game last week.
Stacks are fairly deep thanks to a rich asian lad who was doubling people up due to some right donkey play and getting very unlucky.
Ok we have 8 players on the table and blinds are £1/£1.
I am one off the button.
Rough stacks are:
Waltypies £210 (had only showed 4 hands AA, AK, AQ, 10s)
Button £130 (Button only joined the table so no strong reads as yet)
SB £150 (asian lad, understood the game. Raising alot of pots, he found it hard to lay anything down really. Called draws etc)
BB £180 (very TAG player not really had to show hands)
Folds to waltypies who looks down J9
.
So i raise to £4
Button calls
SB raises to £8
BB calls
waltypies calls
button calls
Pot £32
Flop comes J, A
, J
,
SB bets £30
BB calls
waltypies calls (should i have raised)???
button folds
Pot £122
Turn 9![]()
SB goes all in
BB goes all in
waltypies ????????
Thoughts on this please.

Because u said he has beeing raising a lot of pots and has lost a lot (possibly steaming) the SB range is obviously quite large. i think he could have anything from A7. The BB however is very suspicious just calling a raise and a re-raise. But obviously i dont have as good of read of them as you might. I think he may have AK or AA, u say he understands the game then IF he has flopped a boat he would try to milk u, which flat calling is a sign of, especially with a large raise. I would of raised his bet on the flop to about £90, im only calling that with a boat. I would call the all in and then see the SB has A9 and the BB AA

I don't mind the flat call on the flop, a raise probably only gets called by a better hand.
This then could possibly help u detrmine if u should fold to an all in on the turnOriginally Posted by FirePhil

Edit: Just read in your above post that you would raise to £90 for the reason that only better hands call. That doesn't seem like a good reason to raise to me and it's too much of your stack to raise for info IMO.

Basically thats the reason for not raising the flop. If i had raised i am basically committed to the pot.Originally Posted by FirePhil

Ive just come back from my tea a re-read the full thread, i dunno if i mis-read the stacks or what but i can clearly see that me saying raise to £90 (wtf?) on the flop is wrong. But otherwise i stand by my original postOriginally Posted by FirePhil
