Tourney
Cash
either
In your opinion where has most money to be made? I am currently split between tourneys and cash tables. Cash tables have a lot of money to be made but require a huge amount of patience. Advice?
Personally i much prefer tourneys entertainment wise.
i say tournaments. i made all my cash in the tournys, and i played sng's to help fund the tournys.
Shame there isn't a 'neither' option![]()
Although when I did rarely make any money at poker, it was mainly during cash games.
I've come close a few times with tourneys, but never been able to secure a win, whilst with cash games- there's no blind increases so you can play a tight aggressive game throughout for as long as you like, without those gambles once the blinds reach ludicrous amounts!!
Although I'm sure many people have this point of view and play the cash games tight and aggresively, meaning doing anything more than breaking even becomes difficult, for me at least
I think to constantly play in a way that yields profit in the longterm, it needs a special kind of player, this applies to cash games and tournaments...
IMO cash games are gonna cost you less but you can quite easily build up a nice little pot if you have the patience. With tourneys you may have to invest quite a bit over a period of time if your playing larger games, but the cards and luck will eventually fall for you which could result in a nice sized win. Im confusing myself now......
Cash games
/Most/ people who make regular money play cash games but it's a grind and more of a job than fun (not saying its not fun).
I prefer MTT & STT as they are more fun. I like the satisfaction of cashing from a field of 200/300/400/500 people. It makes me feel big and hard. And it makes me feel good.

It depends on the player, you need different skills to succeed in either. The problem with playing tournaments is it's much harder to determine whether you're a winning player or not as the variance is huge.
I'd say cash too. I play tournies because they are fun. I play cash for about 5 minutes then leave because I am bored as hell.

Definetly cash!!
