I folded the queens and think I was behind at that point. Almost certainly to AA or KK.
The guy was fairly tight and for about 30 mins after this hand we played on with no re-raises or bets of this size, so I think I made a good lay down.
The guy was involved in two big pots, one he lost to a set when I was sure he had top two pair (Aces and Kings) and the other he won with a set and neither of those hands did he raise anymore than 4xBB.

I think getting a little over 2-1 the flop is a call even if we intended to fold to a big turn bet. If he checks behind on the turn then block/value bet the river.
Implied odds are massive here if I catch a queen, with no ace or king.
Prowler played a similar hand against me a week or so back.
He raised 4xBB, I reraised to 11xBB. Flop - 5 5 10 rainbow
He ended up taking all my money with tens full against my kings and fives.

Implied odds = about 12-1.
Odds of flopping a set are 7.5-1 but you won't stack him every time and sometimes when you do hit he will out flop you or outdraw you. I think you need more than this to make you're preflop call profitable.
looks like people agree with alex ross for a change.hell hath finally frozen

Well I only think folding preflop is better than calling preflop and folding the flop.Originally Posted by alexross1977

In for a penny... Big hands- maybe he had top pair ace kicker, maybe Tens maybe above - but I am calling or raising.Originally Posted by PokerWoody

I think Wuddle has hit the nail on the head there. With no A or K on the flop, then you are surely in a great position with QQ unless you fear the AA or KK, in which case you should fold pre flop and never have called the pre flop raise from a player as tight as he seemed.Originally Posted by Wuddle

I think I gained a little piece of info with the size of his bet on the flop.
$20 is a fairly large continuation bet, this was also factored into my decision to fold. I think he knows I have a hand here and that I was likely going to call, so he must have been strong, although maybe not stronger than queens.
