    Default split pot?

    can someone please clarify the outcome of this hand for me.

    player 1 is dealt A 2

    player 2 is dealt A 4

    th five cards in the middle are:-

    A Q 10 8 3

    we both had an a pair of A's but is this a split pot?

    You'll often find split pots with kickers are low as such, unless one of them pairs.

    It seems shitty because the a4 is the better hand but thats the way it goes, and even if the 4 does pair, the board may read 884kk which is still a split pot with eights and kings, ace kicker.
