$8k guaranteed on poker.co.uk, I lasted 6 minutes before getting all my chips in pre-flop with KK against JJ after he open raised to 80 and I pushed for 2k from the BB. You can guess the rest.

He then came out with this priceless comment...

"You can't fold JJ pre-flop."

Loads of luck needed with those tourneys. I play the 4k often and you may as well get your chips in from the start as you'll be called to the river and sucked out regardless. A total and utter swimming pool full of fish. Win a few coinflips though and you're well away

U sucked out with JJ against my KK not long ago if u remember correctly. Sick when it happens but in a fishtank as Matty put it, it's gonna happen frequently as 90% of them wont ever lay down a strong hand regardless of what they put the opposition on.

I have kept a real close eye on the high stake cash tables on poker uk(5/ 10). Ok, its not a tournament, but I am seeing some horrendous plays even at these stakes.

The pick of the bunch was an all in move from someone holding either AK or a high pp and was called by an ep limper for over $200. Showdown, limper shows 2

which flushed the other dude out. A few hands later an all in was called for a lot more cash with 10 6o. I can safely say that if I had a decent roll then these tables would make me a wealthy man. The fish have been well tagged...

UL mate. Although these trnys are not rebuys alot of players are prepared to go with coin flips early on. TBH that early in an online trny( well a 10 - 30 bucks multi-table trny) if I had the bros and raised, then BB reraised 2k id either call and hope 2 c a rag flop or more than likely be reraising all in preflop and taking the flip. I know this is crap shoot play but I get fed up with playing by the book in these online trnys only 2 get bad beat 4/5 hrs later and busting out just b4 the money. I have obviously busted out with these plays many times but have also had a couple of 3rd places and a 5th by taking a chance early on then sitting back waiting 4 premium hands and using my stack 2 bully where appropiate.

However, in the first apat trny last nite the standard of play was very good. There were only 200 runners but after a couple of hours play there were still about 170 players still in. I busted out midway tho with AQo and AJs, I never learn. These hands always look better than they are and get me in2 trouble so often. I always raise with them and when I dont hit the flop I struggle 2 lay em down. PK4 and 78sc busted them, and rightly so

That was a fun tournament

A 5 handed private STT whilst pretty drunk is a bit different to the first orbit of an MTT, plus I pushed rather than calling a push.

It was his comment that amused me, the hand was nothing special - the point of the huge overbet is to get a call from JJ, QQ etc.
