Has any1 else payed a tenner to register for this? The first event is on 23rd - 24th Sept (75.00 entry fee - total prize pool 13,250.00 GBP). The trouble is only 100 players can register through the APAT website, the others coming from online sats and promotions. Me finks ive just wasted a tenner.
I wont write too much about it here but if any1 gets a spare minute can u take a peek at the website and let me know your thoughts. Cheers.

been looking at this myself, ive registered my intrest in the first event, but didnt realise you had to be a member and therefore pay a tenner to actually enter the tourney.
it says first 120 members get a seat for 75 quid, but it also says you can enter on the day but surely with only that number of seats available then they cannot expect there to be seats left.
im sceptical about paying a tenner to be able to register an intrest in the event but the tenner doesnt garauntee you a seat.
thousands more than 120 wouldve registered an intrest surely????therefore lots and lots of tenners going apats way me thinks

IM YOUR DADDY!!!!
the tenner is just for membership, the first tourney is limited for space because they hd no idea how many people would register etc, as far as i'm aware all the other tourneys will be open to a much bigger field as by then they will know their member base and be able to organise locations etc well in advance, its probably gonna be the biggest thing to happen to poker in this country and definitely not a tenner wasted!!

Any time you aggressively play seven deuce off suit, the universe will bend the laws of short term probability in order to re-balance the long term probability abuses by those trashy players who only play premium hands
Yes a riverstars ID is needed as they are sponsoring the apat and adding funds 2 the trny's.Originally Posted by jglenny
After paying 4 apat membership they told me they would send out details and a reminder of when registration goes live for the first event. I found them through blonde and alot of their members are obviously interested so Its def gonna be a mad rush for a spot but will give it a go.
Hopefully (as prowler stated) the trny capacity will be increased in the future.

There was a half price membership offer in Poker Player magazine, PM me if you want the code.
Registration is now NOT happening on the 31st August at midnight. Although if you've regisitered you're interest in the tournament you probably know that. Anyway from the email i recieved.
"The process for registration for this event is being revised and we aim to advise members of the updated process in the next few days. However, I can confirm that we will not be opening registration at midnight on August 31st."
However, the first online tournament in the series takes place this Saturday at 8pm on stars it's $20+$2 and looks like a good tournamnet as you start with 5,000 chips, blinds 15/30, 15 minute levels.
'I figured if I ever went broke at poker, it wouldn't be because my best wasn't good enough to keep me afloat. It'd be because my worst was bad enough to sink me.'
I wouldnt be surprised if they decide to just hold online qualifiers for the events due to the demand. This is part of an email i recieved from them 2day.
"Due to overwhelming demand, we are revising the entry procedures for the English Amateur Poker Championship. We do not think it is too customer focussed to have several hundred members clicking an entry button on our website at midnight on August 31. We will communicate the revised procedure in the next few days".

They are now gonna be drawing names from a hat to decide who can and cant play in the first event. They are also thinking about letting full time players (i.e pros) join and play in the APAT too. While i think it would be nice to have a couple of pros attend the trnys on an invite basis to raise the profile etc, I dont agree with all pros being allowed to join ( as the A in APAT is Amateur).
P.s, I realise were not talking big names here with such a low prizepool![]()
