    Default 7 card stud

hi all i am thinking of hosting a home game of 7 card stud, but was just wondering if i could get a brief run down of the main rules.

we would be playing pot limit, and i know how the cards are dealt, the main thing im unsure of is how the "blinds" work.

i am quite confident of knowing how the game plays but before hosting i was hoping to see if there was anything i dont know as i have never really played it seriiousley before.

    thanks in advance

At the start of the hand everyone pays an ante, usually half the small bet. After the first three cards are dealt the player with the lowest card showing must pay the bring in (this is compulsory). On fourth street and thereafter the biggest hand showing has the action first. last three streets are big bets, first two are small unless on fourth street the player beginning action has a pair showing whereby he may choose to post the big bet, the betting would then continue at the higher limit. Hope that's enough/ not too much.

I'm on a bit of a winning street at 7 stud at the moment, i seem to have found a game i can play (ie not holdem). It's too early to call myself a winning player but i'm not playing holdem cash games online anymore.

I just realised you said you were playing pot-limit so all the rowlocks i posted about big and small bets can be disregarded. Pot-limit 7 stud?? i'm not sure i've ever seen that before. With 5 betting rounds thats gonna get pretty hectic

7 stud is best played limit IMO. Also, max of 8 players with the final rounds being dealt texas style communal cards if enough people have stayed in that you are about to run out of cards!

Well my winning streak ended, couldn't catch a cold at a 7 stud table today. Won a hold em STT though, funny old game.
