did anyone else see that program on channel 4 last night about the kids who were gambling addicts? it must be repeated on e4 soon so keep an eye out for it, some of the stories were so bad they were almost funny.
one family moved to blackpool and their 12 yr old got addicted to machines so he kept asking his mum for fivers etc, it got so bad she went back to where they used to live to try and find a house to move back to, yet every time he asked for money the stupid cow gave him it!!
was a pretty well made program and brought back a lot of memories of how it was to be a kid with a gambling problem, although made me realise i wasnt as bad as i thought!
I saw that program a few weeks ago on channel 4, it was on at about the same time so I thought it was a bit weird to be repeating it allready.
I did find it funny too. The kid who worked in a butchers, annoying all the people that worked there talking about it all the time, getting dressed up in a suit to go to the casino and then jumping on a bus before losing "his wallet" so he couldnt pay his mum rent!
The mum from blackpool was a weird one, she couldnt understand how her kids are always playing fruities at arcades, especially since she bought them one to play at home.
Yeah I saw this a few weeks ago, was about 1am as I recall. I loved that bit where the family were in the pub and the dad gives the kid a tenner to play on the fruit machine, and he comes back after about three minutes.
"It's all gone already?!"
*Nods head*
*Is annoyed*
Why give him it at all? I've seen several instances of teenage addictions where the parents are like "I can't understand why they keep doing it." And it's always because the parents actually allow it. Weird psychology going on, they're in complete denial.
And then the mother gave the kids another tenner.
