has poker.co.uk considered implementing shootout tournaments? they are a good way of getting a big prize pool without having any table swapping.
also i gotta say the 5 man stt's are probably the best on the net
I've never played a shootout tournament, how do they work?
I might give the short handed stts a go then, been having the worst luck in ten seaters, although theres not much value in them which has always been whats put me off before.
basicly a shootout is a mtt where you stay on your table and the top 3 qualify to the next round... you keep ya chip stacks if you get top 3 and also get paid a small amount for 1st 2nd and 3rd
the second round is the same with a slightly higher amount for first 3
it continues in this manner until the final table which pays a decent pot for the top 3
i found the 5 man stt's good value.... 5 bucks to win 17.50 in an hour tops is a good return and 2nd place pays 7.50, another good thing about it is it gives you great practice for final table scenarios and personally its improved my heads up game no end
Short handed are great tournaments and usually a better standard game. Can even be quite challenging at times and i notice most of the sites are now offering them, which is good.
As for shootouts what sites have them.
the biggest bad beat poker site in the world runs 4 a day (every 6 hours) starting with 9.40 am uk time, theres three 5 dollar ones and a 20 one, they can take up to 5 hours to complete, winning on all 4 tables of the $5 usually pays in the region of 180 total, getting 3rd on the first table sees you in a small profit. a strong showing in the first round gives you a very good advantage for the rest as your stack is usually way above most of the 2nd table and so on,
