    Default Building a poker table

Anyone here taken the plunge and built there own poker table?

Lots of info on the net but, materials seem to be a problem here in the UK.

I would like to know if anywhere in the UK stocks suited speed cloth to use as the playing surface?

    and how about cupholders?

    Cheers Chipfire

I considered building a table a while back and you could get the cupholders on ebay, mostly from the US I think but shipping is cheap because they're light. In the end I took the easy option and just nailed some thin foam and pool table felt to my dining table, never eat off it anyway. No drinks holders though. I got my felt off ebay as well.

    Default UK Poker Table

    Hi,

Check out my site with details of the table I built - I'm UK based http://www.williamdowie.com/poker/. I had to buy most of the stuff from the US, but I'd be interested in finding out about alternative UK suppliers.

I wouldn't mind doing a bulk order from the US to save on postage costs if enough people are interested.

Will that is one nice table -

Loved the video too. I now appreciate the effort involved but it looks like you had a good team there.

Did you find the jigsaw accurate enough for the race track cuts? I ended up buying and learning how to use a router. Maybe overkill.

Have you made any more since?

    Talking

Hey folks just joined and seen this message, i am UK based (Scotland) and ive recently built my own full felt 7' x 4' full play surface poker table. My design was kept simple as i love the look of tables with racetracks and cupholders but i far prefer playing on full felt play tables, and knowing the folk that would be playing on my table there was no way id have cupholders as the tourney i run holds a strict no drinks on the table policy! I researched bigtime before building my table and got all my supplies locally or at least UK based, the only trouble i had was finding "suited speed cloth" which i wanted on my table. If anyone is looking for UK based suppliers from anything from the foam to the table legs id be willing to try and help out. Theres no way i would have been able to build my table to anywhere near the quality it is withought the help and guidance of the folk from (another forum site) i wont post incase it infringes some code on here unless its ok? Anyway ill try and figure out how to upload my progress pics of my build, as i said my table is a very simple context oval 3 plywood 18mm sheet but i am very proud of it and everyone whos seen it "in the flesh" has nothing but good comments about it, if i can build a poker table trust me just about anyone can id highly recommend it i really enjoyed it and looking for an excuse to build my 2nd! Sorry for babbling on

Not built one myself, but I know that cloth/cupholders etc. are available at this UK based site.

I personally wouldnt go near their cloth, its the cheap "felt" cloth and if your serious about building a decent poker table this stuff really isnt what your looking for, their cupholders and other stuff like chips, cards etc are ok though if you dont want to spend too much cash.
