I actually think you should have reraised to about $4 preflop here. I like to isolate against these sort of players as often as possible, especially when you have a great drawing and with position.
As you played it nice fold...and to be fair, Q4 isn't massively behind AJ![]()
i considered the raise which on the face of it is the correct move but i already knew there were a few loose players on the table....from just 1 hand you wouldnt know that so your theory is correct on face value.....my call then fold worked out to be the right move yet i still cant believe anyone would go so far in with q-4 suited or not!!! the fact he won the hand on the river adds insult to injury.......i'm the first to say "thats poker" but would anyone else raise the pot so high on a hand so weak pre flop? even if it was just to get a heads up situation (my folding) did he really think he had better than someone who just raised to 5+ and only had $2 left?
