Easy value bet all in here? (he has $40 left)?
Incedently I wouldn't have played the hand had I noticed the bet to $3 was a reraise!
I would put him on 58 and definitely not the flush. So I'd day definitely all in at this point. Plus I'd expect him to call with the lower straight as he can't put you on the flush either unless you had a massive drawing hand like 48

, none of which the average player would call a raise pre-flop with (well they're borderline I suppose) And I wouldn't put them on a full house either because with two pair or three of a kind on the turn it would be too risky to bet in the first place, and surely not worth calling the re-raise with one card to come. So I'd say all in.
So I guess you think that your definately winning this hand then? Diceman, I don't understand your drawing hands that include cards on the board?

At first it seemed like a no brainer but I'd missed the board pairing. I still think it's a pretty easy bet, if they had a set and filled up on the river then checking when they had $40 left with $150 in the pot would be stupid when so many worse hands would call a bet. I think that a 5 is most likely from how they played it, followed by 78. I think you get called by a worse hand more often than a better hand here. There may be an argument for betting smaller though, they may lay down a 5 or two-pair for $40 but call $20, not sure what is the most +EV, it depends on the player.
No, I actually pussied out and checked behind.Originally Posted by Terminator
On reflection though I really think I should have bet. Given the size of the pot I think he will probably call me with a 5 hoping for a chop despite the scary looking river card and I don't see him checking with the flush or FH.
Ah perhaps I was too used to playing with rigged decks to notice that. Looking at it again, he probably either has 5Originally Posted by Terminator

. The latter would explain the small bet on the flop (with the straight) because he doesn't fear the flush. And he bets big on the turn because there are three callers and probably at least one now has a nut flush draw. That would explain him betting moreorless the pot on the turn to get rid of the flush draws.

Okay fine, the first example was too complicated for me.![]()
Basically, he has 58 of no significant suit. I said that the first thing too but then went on to talk about lots of pointless crap about what he thinks we have, or sumfink or nuffink.
I think he has a 5 and any other card. I didnt like the way he called on the turn instead of pushing harder unless he is scared of the flush. I dont see him on a full house at all.
Now the flush is out there, he is wary of putting all his cash into the middle, and hoping to see it as cheaply as possible, though I suspect he would have probably called whatever you did anyway.
