I just got an automatic card shuffler for my B/day. Makes life a little less tedious.
Confucius say "man who know wombat know more than stupid looking monkey"
Confucius also say "man who know Kebab has 60 inch waist"
Confucius finally add "man may deal, but man may not 'know' deal"

Got to agree with SS - plus they make a racket, jamb and are generally a distration. Shuffling is an art form to be developed.Originally Posted by sentialsteve
I've never used an automatic shuffler, but from what I have heard, they are not that great. I mean, how well do they really shuffle? I've been told that from top to bottom they are not mixed up, resulting in the top and bottom cards staying where they are. Example: top 4 cards A-K-10-J, when pack is shuffled, will still remain on top, but might be K-J-A-10, or something like that, instead of being distributed throughout the rest of the pack more evenly. Is this correct? Or have you found the shuffling to be consistantly random?
I bought one from Argos. Tried it a few times, then promptly listed and sold int on eBay for precisly the reason Terminator states. They do not properly shuffle the deck at all. They sort of do a half assed riffle shuffle, but there is no way that the cards at the top of the deck will get mixed with the cards at the bottom of the deck unless you remove them from the machine and cut them a few times, then put them back in.
If you are going to do that, why not just shuffle them yourselves anyway? lol
Oh and they are as noisy as hell too.
I don't think I'd ever use a card shuffler. Steve's right, there is nothing more impressive than being able to shuffle like a pro. When your shuffling the cards, everyone is watching you because they are waiting to see what their next cards are, so with an audience it's nice to impress.
I'm not claiming to be amazing at shuffling, but I think I'm quite good, and I often get comments at the table, it can also help your image. If your playing with strangers, one decently impressive shuffle and they will be a bit wary of getting involved in hands with you.
lol, make a mountain out of a mole hill.
btw, WooHoo I get one in my gambling room, oh and I can shuffle in style![]()
