    Default Cheating Online

    http://www.winholdem.net/forum/viewt...941e96272bb01b

Here is a site where cheaters discuss how to cheat on the internet.
They discuss the best way to play partners. They discuss their widely used cheating software. Most frightening is that they discuss the weak approach that Party Poker takes when they catch cheating. It does nothing! there is a weak gibberish laden letter from Party Poker available on this site.

Online players! Rise up. Raise hell.

In my view, if you play ring games online, you are either cheating or being cheated.

I wrote an article on cheating available on www.pokerpages.com and www.thepokerforum.com but it applies to ring games.

    What about www.winholdem.net ?

So far I’ve been quite success in ring games and don’t intent to stop playing them until I reach a point were they’re unprofitable. It’s simply a case of practicality, finding a real world game with the right stakes, sufficient fish and acceptable travel time/cost is currently more hassle than playing against cheats.

To be honest I’m more concerned about the privacy issues or risk of malicious exploit. If Ladbrokes has the same spyware built in I’m going to have to run my client on a clean box or through an emulator.

The important thing is to know that it happens and to learn how to spot it, probably the easiest way to cheat is for two people to collude, either in the same room or by telephone, on a recent visit to a card room called the gut shot i noticed two guys playing online (the card room has a small internet cafe) next to each other on the same site both talking constantly on their mobiles. If that wasn't collusion i don't know what is! I have found myself in situations which when i look back on it i am sure i was cheated, once getting stuck between two players who operated systematically against me in a $10/$20 Limit game. Their play was so well co-ordinated that i eventually smelled a rat and left the game.

If you find yourself in a situation where you suspect someone is cheating get straight on to the managers and get them to investigate.

I'd say most sites are pretty quick on the ball when it comes to cheating. Lots of sites have programs running that check hand histories in order to spot colluders and when they find enough evidence these people will be banned and their accounts frozen.
It only stands to reason that those sites supplying poker ARE actively searching for people cheating. This is after all their means of profit (in the sence of rake) we're talking about. And when a site gets known for people cheating, it will loose players and thus profit.

I'm not saying all sites are active in looking for cheaters but I would think most are. Of some I know for certain they are because I've spoken to the people running the show. Of course they do need help from the poker players themselves, so if you ever suspect someone of for instance colluding then all you have to do is fire off an email and they'll check the hand histories. And once they do they'll not only check the hand history of that particular game but of all previous games and forthcomming games aswell. So if you suspect someone, leave the table and fire off an email.

I'd even go so far as to say it's much harder to cheat online than it is to cheat offline where there are no hand histories. Who ever heard of marked cards online or bottom dealing etc. Once again, the odds are in the favour of the non cheating poker player and much more so online than offline...
