Those are the three best place to play poker online in my opionion. Be sure to find a first time sign up bonus on the net so you can get $25-$50 on your first deposit.
where are the best places to play texas holdem online? I've generally heard that texas holdem is the game most likely to earn you money online (possibly due to the fact that you're playing other humans, not the computer)... anyone have any experience with this? cheers,
john

I haven't tried those others yet, but I've had some good luck at www.ultimatebet.com. It's worth a try in my opinion.
Those are all great sites mentioned for online poker. Big and reliable. A few others I may add are Paradise Poker, Pacific Poker, and Empire Poker.
See you at the tables.![]()
All poker variants are played against human players on equal terms, which is indeed why they have the potential to earn you money. Other casino games can’t support professional players because they’re design to always put you at a disadvantage and over time guarantee you will lose money.Originally Posted by paymaster7
Texas hold’em is the most popular so the easiest to find a game. However, you may find one of the other variants more profitable for you.
copenhagen tobacco is having a $100,000 texas hold'em contest. you aren't playing for real money (well except for the winner), but it's fun and set-up nicely
so if texas holdem isn't neccesarily the game with the best potential payouts, then what would you suggest? I'd be interested in trying something less random than blackjack... but that requires less skill than holdem...
It depends on you. It’s like saying “I want to play a ball game, I hear footballs the most popular thus the best for me”.Originally Posted by paymaster7
I suggest you experiment with what’s out there and choose a game you feel most comfortable with. I like Texas Hold’em but wouldn’t sit down at a draw table even with a gun to my headSome people wouldn’t understand this, thinking “It’s all just poker right?”.
There are literally hundreds of poker variants, some little more than roulette with cards. Examples:Originally Posted by paymaster7

My advice would be to stick to the main/most popular types (Texas/Omaha Hold’em, 5/7 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw...). The more bizarre variants should be approached with caution since their unusual structure can often hide edges that more experienced players understand and can exploit against novice players. Plus it’s almost impossible to find a money game
Where to go from here? You could try a few home games with friends, play on some of the free tables on-line, use the internet to find out what’s out there, maybe buy a book if you start to become more committed but keep it all pretty general until your happy that you know what you want.
