5 winners with 5 numbers and 2 stars. This is "no luck" for the winners.
That's why all players should play different combinations, to avoid multiple winners and hence low divided prizes. What do you think about this ?
For those interested, join www.onewinner.me : an attempt to create a social and collaborative service for collecting combinations choosen by players. This is to avoid several people play the same numbers !
It happens for many reasons. I`ve got three: more numbers below 30 than above, similar differences between consecutive numbers, and finally one number in each ten.
In fact most people pick the numbers of their birth date, and tend to spread the numbers with balance and equal distance between them.
Sorry about the exaggeration but this is “almost” a “Black Swan” (a very rare or almost impossible event)! It is not easy to see those 3 conditions to happen at the same time!
It is curious to see the common citizen to bet in a “black swan” without his knowing it!
Normally the “black swan`s” strategy is used by very specialized gurus of the financial markets or casinos and when occurred it rewards them with greats amounts of money.

Very interesting analysis ! This can indeed explain this strange result.
I also tried to see if these numbers draw a special geometric shape on a standard lottery ticket, but it seems it is not the case.
Note that there has already been 5 winners on 2007 October 5th with numbers : 11 20 27 35 44 / 2 5
Hi
Yes, but in that case there was 2 numbers in the group of "twenties" (20and 27). In the last Friday’s draw the match gave 1 number in the ten`s, 1 in the twenties, 1 in the thirty`s….and so on, which is much more rare.
I think people don`t try to design geometric figures in the ticket. I think the most of the people tend to balance the match in their mind with similar distances between the numbers. The problem is that people seems to not realize that is a very rare figure to be drawn.
The only difference between the 5 jackpot winners and next two levels of prize winners is that they also matched two Lucky Stars.
Statistically the matching of main balls and bonus balls are two separate events. So, as far as matching 5 from 50 main balls are concerned, the 5 jackpot winners are considered as part of the overall 19 entries that matched all 5 balls.
If you look back at previous draw results, the overall number of tickets that matched 5 main balls are consistent with the number of popular numbers drawn, i.e 1-12, 13-31, 32-50 are popular in that order.
Therefore I don't see the 5 jackpot wins as unusual, just lucky to match both bonus balls.
Hi
Last week were 29 entries that matched 5 balls. In the draw 4/11 were only 19, in the draw 2/11 were 17 but in the draw 3/11 were 49 because all the ball were below 31.
I think the Bonus balls don`t have so much importance in this issue because the odds of getting 2 hits are not very low.
So what I found here are the vicious attitudes of the players that explain the big differences between the entries that match 5 balls.
In the last draw the vicious attitudes were those described in the previous posts.
@SPOT
Good point ! This is indeed more representative to compare the sum of the winners of the 3 first levels. And from this point of view the last draw is very standard ...
Hi OneW
Standard how?
29 entries last draw and the average probably is below 20!!!!
The standard deviation is almost 50%!!!!
I mean, there are regularly more than 29 and less than 29 winners. From this point of view the last draw is not as exceptional as mentioned on my first post (where I focused solely on the first level, and on a phenomenon that happens once every 3 or 4 years). You made me relativize.
