HI everyone ,


i would like to hear views on playing the lotto and the chances of winning. obviously checked and calculated myself, chances are close to zero.
but! pick 4 out of 49 in lotto hotpicks seems interesting.
has anyone got an idea how to increase your chances in pick 4. ps i know the odds, what am looking for is how people chose numbers.
i came up with 4 presumptions in the lotto impossibility to win.
1st: generally too hard to win , so what you chose, wont come out, and approximation of your own chance to chose numbers might be required.

2nd: the result of one draw is never exactly the same that the precedent one nor the previous ones, in at least 4 numbers.
3rd: if instead of 49 numbers, you had to pick 4 out of 27 or 15 numbers, with respect to the 1st 2 presumptions.
4th: no number patterns exists in winning the lotto, but as it by magic, the results do not follow previous random pattern.

Hi Amal, if everything was equal then there would be absolutley no way of picking anything other than randomly as all outcomes would have an equal chance of probability.

In reality there is probably some outcomes that are more likely than others as for example it is less likely to have all odd numbers as by the 4th number there are less odd numbers to chose from so you increase your chance of winning (marginally) by having a mix of odd numbers and even numbers.

The same could be said of spreading throughout the draw, again the odds of all numbers being drawn between 1 and 10 is lower as you have less to choose from as the draw progresses.

First when you choose your numbers need to be least played in the country and this is not possible
