Arrow Why isn't the UK Lotto drawn by hand

I think the Lotto draws should be drawn by human hand & the pickers wearing short sleeved T-shirts - it would be a lot quicker amongst other reasons for doing it that way.

There seems to be something fishy about the COMPUTER/MACHINE doing it.

I've always been curious to know why you can never BUY a lotto ticket say for example 2 mins before an actual draw, the cut off is always 19:30pm & the draw around 20:00pm ??

What happens in that 30 min window ???

The computer is working out who's going to win & who isn't !!

They should do it the way the football teams are drawn at the start of the season - Carling Cup & FA Cup - straight of the bag picked by human hand.

    Lol...

I agree, in Spain they still use people to draw the balls from barrells for the El Gordo draws.

The reason for the draw machines to close may well be as a result of the lottery employee who reset the clocks on the machines many years ago after the draw had been made and bought himself the winning ticket after the draw had taken place..... he can be reached on his "cell" phone for the full story...lol

I believe the reason the lottery isn't drawn by hand is; it's easier to manipulate the draws using a machine? I have for some time questioned the legality of the draws myself, based on certain combinations being drawn; that should only be drawn once in a blue moon. If you have studied the number conbinations that could be drawn, you would come to the same conclusion as me. Take last nights double rollover; no one in their right mind would pick 3 odd numbers from the tens followed by 3 numbers from the forties. The number combination is rarely drawn. There were only 2 winners of the jackpot; what's the bet that those 2 winners were lucky dips?
