Hello,
Has anyone here used the e-Lottery syndicate, Virtual World Direct Ltd (not to be confused with BRITISH INT'L E-LOTTERY PROMOTION)?
I have on several occasions had e-mails but ignored them. Well, like everyone else, I want to win but need to know if this is a legitemate operation, although I do acknowledge that they say they are members of the Lotteries Council of Great Britain.
For a good explanation, check out Mario's Lottery Groups.
I have used v-w-d and, in their defense, I have won a good few times whilst a member. But I do agree that the fees can negate the value of any winnings unless its a big one. I suppose you have to balance the fees with the improved chances of a win; you probably should compare the fees to the costs of buying a lot of lottery entries. Statistically, they do improve your chances of winning but it only pays off if you cop for a big win so it's a lottery just like any other lottery, all down to luck! The only way to offset the fees is to approach it like a business and get other punters to join your team.
Yes, I agree with acktiv8. In my opinion the only way to do it is to get other people to join too.
they are legit, they've been running for many years now. In the end it's a way of playing more numbers which increases your chances of winning. they also have an affiliate thing where you can look to get more members to join and then you get more entries for free - something like that anyway.

Here is my view of e-lottery:
It is acutally the largest UK lottery syndicate in the UK, the Virtual World Direct (VWD) eLottery Syndicate provides 88 lines per week on the UK Lotto for £5.
In fact, it is really a 'collection' of syndicates as every 49 members are a group, with their own set of numbers for each UK Lotto main draw. Each group is allocated a unique set of 5 numbers - which together with every possible 6th number - are entered into every Wednesday and Saturday draw. The result is 88 chances of winning per week, and if you match your 5 you hit the jackpot. The 6th ball is guaranteed.
The e-Lottery Syndicate is not the cheapest UK Lotto syndicate, but you do get the peace of mind of a professional and reliable company. The overheads of staff and premises are always going to cost more than 'Bob in Accounts with his Excel lottery spreadsheet' (although you can do some pretty nifty things with a lottery spreadsheet!). These guys are professionals with a full team of permanent staff at the elottery offices.
So at £5 per week this is set at a very reasonable level - only marginally more than the average person spends per week on the UK Lotto anyway. But that's it, no other fees or hidden charges. It's good to see honest clear pricing.
You can pay an optional one-off £20 for a 'Reserve Fund' if you wish (this is only used for 'just in case' cover should a payment be late for any reason, so you never miss an entry). It's a comfort factor, but entirely optional and fully refundable.
So the bottom line is just £5 to play and you stop whenever you want.
So What Do We Think?
Simply, it's the best lottery syndicate available! We are happy to be members of this one. We haven't hit a big prize yet, but it's nice to be collecting plenty of small prizes while you wait.
All of the eLottery Syndicate facilities are available in the online Members Area, so you can easily change address details or change which lotteries you play in (you can also play EuroMillions). Virtual World Direct send emails shortly after every draw to tell you when you win (picking up email on Wednesday and Saturday has become much more interesting as a result!), but you can also log in and check your results if you can't wait.
Look out for the 'e-Lottery Movie' when you visit the site, it explains nice and clearly how the syndicate works, and is worth spending a couple of minutes watching so you quickly get the hang of things.
So in conclusion, if you only ever join one syndicate, make it this one!
I was a member of VWD for a while but resigned because I thought that the strategy was poor.I'd joined the Euromillions side of things that gives a line of 5 numbers and covers every possible combination of Lucky Stars.I admit that I won some very small amounts but relying on only 5 numbers in the main draw seems foolish.Try buying one ticket for the Euromillions and see the chances of getting one number correct.
A far better strategy for 88 lines is to play either a full or abbrieviated wheeling strategy, such as those created by Dimitrov and others, for 88 lines of play,I can cover more than 20 numbers in a wheel(or perm) with a minimum win of a 3 number prize and in these 88 lines,I can cover the lucky stars numerous times ! I prefer to aim for one Lucky Star in the perm, relying somewhat on Lady Luck to give me the second.
Consider this in adopting this wheeling strategy ! The 5 number prize alone is estimated at £50,000,with 1 Lucky Star this goes to £3.5 million and there's much more of a chance of trapping the 5 numbers in 20+ than with just 5 !
Give me regular wins with a syndicate that plays the wheeling way rather than a strategy that's obsessed with the Jackpot every time and I'd join.
It seems e-lottery VWD stops its activities suddently today : www.virtualworlddirect.com/
Yes e-lottery has seized trading on 10th December to what they say:
e-lottery has been good but I am not sure if I will be joining the "re-born" e-lottery.This has been brought about by a legal action brought against the Company by the UK Department of Business Innovation and Skills alleging misleading advertising. The Company strenuously denies this and has never received any complaints from any of its customers in this regard, but the Company is unable to defend itself due to the high legal costs involved.
Yes you are reading correctly - e-lottery is back as Big Fat Lotteries bigfatlotteries.com
e-lottery used to offer an affiliate system which bigfatlotteries currently does by invit only otherwise everyhting is the same. I am sure eventually they will be back to the usual, once the dust is settled.
