OLW: Online Lottery World
Just stumbled on this forum and I hope to swap lottery stories with like minded people
Reading the T & C of Euromilion the other day I noticed an interesting term.
Anybody can play from anywhere in the world but unless you 'reside' in a qualifying country you cannot collect any winnings?
Bit like Hotel California, Check out any time you like but you can never leave.
Does anyone think this is ethical of Euromilions?
Hi - I write lottery systems and did run non-commercial syndicates in Australia for a while. But, as pointed out in this forum, there are a lot of issues.
My compromise might be your answer - I partnered with an official lotto agent to run my systems for me. If you can talk your local lottery agent into handling everything for you but based on systems you write for the lottery agent, this can work.
A big plus is that lotto agents (in Australia anyway) have enormous sums tied up in the lottery franchise, which can be cancelled if problems arise - plus here lotto agents need compulsory insurance.
You have nothing to lose. Buy your local lotto agent a coffee, explain what you want to do, and see what response you get.
Mario's Lottery Groups is now also playing the US Powerball lottery. We are playing the March 6 draw with a jackpot of $139 million. The cost to join is only $10.
Good luck.
Guys
You can see from my other threads that I run a couple of lotto analysis websites covering 5 countries around the globe. I have been discussing with developers already what is required to do a non-profit making syndicate on the basis of making money and pr from the resultant wins.....Does that kind of thing appeal?
Certainly in the uk the legalities would be through setting up "official" syndicates if done through the national lotteries website. The difficulties usually are in the collecting of money in time before the draw and what happens on a losing and/or winning draw if those monies aren't paid...
It is a good idea and whilst I'm already involved as well in private syndicates it's with people that generally have more money than the potential wins and are therefore unlikely to make a beeline for the continent in the event of the big win, apart from which I'm the administrator!
The only problem with going the official route is that if it's seen to be a commercial venture then all sorts of legalities seem to get in the way.
