I would say it's a pretty stong relationship to begin with, but then so are lots of relationships between people who have had sex before marriage who then stay married for the rest of their lives.

We have been together for 19 years in November, Not married. Two great kids. Bought house together after a year and we went at it like rabbits from week 1.

One of the reasons that arranged marriages statistically last longer is the fact fact that divorce is SO frowned upon, chances of re-marriage being slim to disappearing, even to the extent of being "grounds" for murder is some cases.This makes people understandably reluctant to split up, even if the marriage is dead.
