DTA, 'don't trust any body' regarding any thing in buying a house, makes sure all your terms are met, DT the vendor, the estate agent or the solicitor, they are all in it for the money and unless you are 100% happy with what you see, play hard ball, we had vague spoken promises by the vendor who left us a real mess to clear up when they left and the mf took all the light and electric fittings and we payed the asking price too.
We complained to the solicitor but they said they were unable to get intouch with them and it strung out over months until i just gave up, i still want to kill the mfs.
Vet the vendor too, do you think you can trust this person and do business with them, if you doubt you can, walk away.
remember your the buyer let them bend over backwards for the sale.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
It's always the same these days. I've been renting an apartment in City centre and they have actually offered to sell it to me at a very discounted price (I think) but I do not think I will be able to get the mortage on my own by the sounds of it.
Someone told me these aprtments when just opened for sale/rent was up for sale at £130k, and I got offered it at £75k, but I didn't even enquire about it, so I think the owner of all the apartments is in trouble.
But getting a nice discount for Matt is quite impressive! Could be in for a tidy profit come a few years time if you think of selling it.
