    Funny story time...

We had a house on the market last year at £440,000.

It had no viewings for ages, was over priced and dated. We had an offer come in for £340,000!! It took me 2 hours of face to face too and frow with the vendor for him to finally accept the offer!! lol.

£100k off!!! Anyhow, moral of the story even if it sounds cheeky offer ask anyway - as you never know what will be accepted!

you have to ask... approx 24 month ago i looked at a house. Not an expensive property. It was on the market for 119k. We got chatting with the sellers (think it was the Halifax) and to cut a long story short he owed 106k on the mortgage (g/friend fk off with his mate and he turned to drugs n booze) so would not or could not accept below 106k. The day i phoned the halifax to make an offer of 106k they said sorry the mortgage company has started repo and is no longer on the market. Just before christmas 08 the house was still on the market. prices started to fall, now it was down to 105k. then 99k. I put in 4 offers in a week. 1st one for 70k rej. and the last one of £85.500 this was accepted. Now were in the new tax year Its back on the market for a little over the original 119k Thank the lord for druggies, sluts and beer

I have no idea to why there are asking prices on properties, because they are just going to be offered less in the long run.

I just made an offer on a pub/nightclub and they are more than willing to take 30k of the asking price. Now is the time to buy, rather than sell I suppose.
