I would also agree that Paul Mc's version of Live and Let Die is superior to the GnR version.

Weird coincidence. I heard about the top 5 and worst 5 cover songs of all time on the radio a couple of days ago (and have now seen via Woody's link). This actually isn't what prompted me to post this thread though (that was listening to Johnny Cash's Hurt round a friends house the other night). I'm glad to see Total Guitar agree with me that All along the Watchtower is an awesome cover

Ah, I assumed it was the article which prompted the post. Hence I kept posting songs which were in the top/bottom 5 from the list. I don't think i've heard Celion Dions cover to be fair.

Mind you, I always go to sleep listening to the radio (without it turning itself off overnight - no sleep button). That means the amount of subliminal shit I hear each night must be astounding. Pretty often I think 'what a coincidence, I was just thinking about that' when I hear something on the news, when fairly often the case must be I have heard it but not realised.

I disagree too.

On a separate note, has anyone heard the original version of "Changes" by Ozzie Osbourne, rather than the later cover with the bint on it?

Well i'm not sure who's is better really, i'd probably agree and go with Wings although "Chicken Pot Pie" by Weird Al might just top them all The whole point was that it was one of the songs on the published top/bottom 5 of which I was gonna keep mentioning.

It's a bit worrying that people keep on mentioning this cover as not being as good as the original, does this mean the lack of protest against Celine Dion is confirmation that her cover is better than AC/DC's original ??
