OK there's this feature on the BBC Sport website where you can predict the rest of the Premiership fixtures and it simulates the table at the end of the season.
How about we have a vChip contest to see who gets the closest. I'll stake up to 20k in chips, depending on how rich the people interested are.
The predictor is here:
BBC SPORT | Football | Premier League | Predictor
This is the Premiership as of 2/3/08:
Here is my prediction:
I think we should analyse the winner thusly:
First by the teams in these positions:
1st
2nd
3rd
4th
20th
19th
18th
5th
6th
7th
17th
16th
15th
8th-14th in order
After that by who has the closest to the right amount of points the teams in those positions have (in the same order as above).
It's pretty unlikely it will even get half way down that list.
The next fixture is 5th March which is Liverpool vs West Ham, which is an unknown in my above prediction. But there isn't a whole heap of games until 8th March, so I extend this offer to anybody who gets their prediction in by Saturday 8th March before 3pm.
I don't mind people putting other side bets in terms of money on this. We could treat it a bit like one of those tournaments where the players buy in for different amounts and can only win multiples of what they stake.
On a side-note, using the predictor is quite good fun anyway. I didn't even realise that I thought Sunderland would go down, but it seems I do think that.

man utd will win the league, the mickey mousers will beat the scum but still fail to get 4th, everton are running good and deserve their position, the arse and chelsea will float 2nd/3rd cos the gaps big enough

I'm willing to bet 20 vchips with you Dice?
Also, can you tell I hate both Liverpool and Newcastle?

Damn, looking back at the original table, it looks like i've given Derby waaaaay to many points. I guess they must have matches against Liverpool and Newcastle coming up.

OK good, now we have some kind of competition. It isn't that obvious that you hate Liverpool. I support them and only gave them 3 more points than you. Before you did it, did you realise you would have Everton in 4th and Sunderland go down?

Nope. I have no idea who is good at all anymore, I just did it as quickly as possible and obviously didn't update the table until i'd entered all the results. I really hope Everton finish above Liverpool though.
Of course my results were mainly 2-1 or 0-0, with a 9-8 thriller thrown in for good measure. I imagine this will be the same for most people.

Wow the last two are so different frome ach other, with 10 points difference in Reading and 14 with Villa?! How much are you both willing to stake?

What are you guys actually staking on this? The bet isn't valid until you actually bet something.
