Ive got a couple of websites which i want to submit to search engines. Can anybody give me any info with regards to the best way of doing this. Ive seen a couple of sites on the web which clain to submit your site free of charge but im not convinced they are any good. Obviously it would be great if i could get in the top few listings on google, but is this going to cost me loads of money?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Pleeeeeeeze anyone???
Ok then, whats the best software to use for submitting? Do u need to submit as much as possible to ensure high rankings? Or do you just pay someone to do all your submitting for you?
There's tons of software that will automate the process of submitting your site to search engines. But it no way inclines you will get good positions, or even indexed by those engines.
The engines to concentrate on are, Google, MSN, Lycos, Dogpile, Uber-Search, Overture and AOL.
There are numerous ways to SEO your website(s), many webmasters charge for this service, because they have to meet the criterias of the search engines, I do SEO for alot of clients, I only charge a small monthly fee, and I make sure they work with me on the website to meet the criteria's of the search engines. You can do it yourself, but can be tedious and take up alot of time, even doing SEO for nearly 5 years, cannot guarantee ANY positions in any engines.
Couple of tips:
1) Mention your keyphrases as much as possible everywhere possible
2) dont spam (ie: use an invisible colour same as background) you will get blacklisted for this
3) Bold your keywords and keyphrases and link them to other urls/pages on your site.
Hope that helps![]()

i think you might mean astalavista.com
I will stick to Google and MSN only
The biggest factor by a mile is inward links to you site, as this says this is a good site go here.
Without inward links you will never get anywhere.
The part you can get right is page names. Dont just call then contacts, products etc
call them blue widgets products and blue widget contacts etc. Make every page name useful. Have proper sub headinhs using H1 tag rhat says blue widget contact details etc
I could go on for hours but there is a start.
Expreessumbit i think its called isnt too bad which is free, a few you can do manualy like msn and yahoo.
A little tip, set up a email account on yahoo just for spam, as a lot of submittals like email verification and stops you real email from clogging up.
