I've not started gambling yet, but I'm interested in trying roulette. I have my doubts though, cos my friend said that a croupier told him that when you play for money, they use a different program that isn't random so you end up losing, as opposed to the random program used when you play for fun. To back this up, my dad worked out a system that had been winning overall everytime he played for fun, but as soon as he played for money in the same way, he lost all the money straight away, and now he daren't play again. This was with Totalbet roulette. I'd like to play either on there or the Coral casino, cos I prefer their quickspin feature, but I'd like to hear other peoples' opinions on whether or not it is totally random first, cos I'm not convinced either way yet.
cant comment on less reputable ones but why would the big casinos risk their reputation to cheat?
They are guaranteed winners anyway there is no need to cheat.
Why has it come to this?
Yep. You sure it wasnt the other way around? They might use different software for the fun games as these are not covered by gambling legislation so it is easier for you to win, sort of luring the unaware. I very much doubt that any online casino would use a program that is more unfair than the standard game for real play though. As scott says they dont need to. They have a built in edge already!
It could also be possible that your dad just had a lucky run at the play table and a bad run at the real table....no system can get around the house edge without foul play.
Betting systems constitute one of the oldest delusions of gambling history. Betting systems votaries are spiritually akin to the proponents of perpetual motion machines, butting their heads against the second law of thermodynamics.

If only more people would realise this hey Croup?Originally Posted by croup
Janda, if you are new to gambling, then quit before you even start in respect to casino based games.
If you want to learn how to win money at gambling (I always say this but it is so true), master poker or how to find value in horse racing. Casino based betting will always result in losses in the longterm unless you are extremely lucky. There are no systems for roulette. There is a house edge like croup says and this cannot be beaten.
As for the online aspect, I know FOBT's work to a percentage, so their roulette is not even random like in a live casino- whether online based roulette is the same I don't know, but I'd guess that it is.
Hi Janda.
I am sorry to read about your bad experience with the casinos. As far as I know, casinos use the same RNG for practice play and for real money play, but luck is not always on your side whether you play for real or for fun.

Personally not facing a bad online casino experience, but a friend of mine after many lucky poker hands that encouraged to play for real.
All his initial deposit ran out in just 2 hands, playing at hist low bankroll.
I believe online casino because I have ever won a lot from online casino and get the money soon. But you should play at reputable and famous online casino, you can search it in internet.
I have the exact opposite view.Originally Posted by jjh

Answer: All of them!
Only a very small percentage will become good enough to win all the time.
However, I have profited from online casinos 9 out of every 10 months for the last 5-years!
It's all down to using bonuses & having a bit of self control - it's ain't rocket science!![]()
i think you'll find jjh was making a point that with poker you can become good enough to be in a position of advantage where you are a better player than your opponent, whereas you are always at a disadvantage against a casino as all games are to the house advantage

Whereas casino games are much easier to master (the dealer never tries to bluff you) and you can reduce the house edge considerably to the point where the odds are actually in your favour - by use of bonuses.
