Hi all,
Some years ago, I bought a roulette system or two from a so called professional gambler. Now the thing is, the systems weren't anything special, but one of his tips became very useful, which was.... When using ...Red / Black Odds / Evens High / Low On average, when using these, the repeats out number the opposites by the ratio of 3:2. Take red / black for example, you never get........ red/black/red/black/red/black/red/black/red/black/red/black/red etc It's not like that, it's more like.... red,red,red,/black/black/red,red,red,/black,black,black,/red,/black,black etc So, you get more repeats than you do opposites, that's why it's wiser to bet on the repeats. If you monitor 100 spins, you'll see what I mean. Thanks for listening. John <snip> Last edited by Gus Mango Fish : 22nd July 2005 at 12:01 AM. |

Like the theory, got told it once, bet on a colour even/od or 1-18/19-36 now put your stake on ie 1quid. Comes in doubled - walk - doesnt come in - lost stake (1quid) play again with a quid loose then play 2 quid... and so on... Now keep playing like this as level is better than a loss. I would say you have all the time in the world but casinos close 2 early unless u can find a 24 hr one.

Justanewone, this is known as the Martingale system.
Bet on a colour, it doesn't come in, so double it. Repeat until is does come in. Most casinos allow £5 minimum on Red/Black, so it just takes a few runs of the same colour for you to have bet £5 > £10 > £20 > £40 > £80 > £160 > £320 (by now you'd have reached the maximum red/black bet allowed in most casinos) > £640 > £1280 etc. By this point you'd have spent £2555 in the pursuit of breaking even. I remember another thread around here where someone saw the same colour land 16, or 17 times in a row. That would have cost £327,675. Casinos absolutely love you to play the Martingale system, or any system infact (excluding using a mobile phone equipped with a laser to work out the rough landing zones of the ball). That's why they provide you with roulette cards and a pen. |

This is where i don't understand so called methods like this, as whatever colour you bet on after a red/black comes out, you still have an 18/37 chance of winning, am i right or am i losing my sanity at a young age.
Cheers |

Sure, each colour has the same chance every time, as you say, 18/37 chance taking the 0 (green) into consideration. And this is correct, after 1,000 goes on a fair roulette table, the number of reds compared to number of blacks will probably even out. But for each colour to average out in perfect harmony, say red-black-red-black- that is too perfect- I'd say a sensible roulette player could do a lot worse than following a system like that. If someone recorded 1,000 goes, you would see that you would say times when more blacks come out over reds, and this would be good for someone following a system based on level stakes betting for the repeat colour. |
