Anyone interested in talking about their real life casino experience? I have been to quite a few around the world, even though I'm not exactly a professional gambler or even take that as my favourite hobby.

I have been to most in Vegas. Favorites that come to mind are Mandalay Bay and the Hard Rock Hotel. When you compare Vegas casinos to the round-of-the-mill casinos found here in the Netherlands, it's like comparing apples to oranges. I go to casinos mainly for the atmosphere and as a social getaway, and in that perspective casinos in Vegas is best I would say.

Yeah, I agree that Vegas is "grand" in that sense. :) Anyone been to the new casinos in Macau? They just have the monopoly opened after more than a quarter of century.

I have only been to Sky City here in New Zealand, so cant really compare to anything...

However, after seeing lots of movies featuring Vegas, it is definetely on my hitlist when I make it to the States

The thing that probably caught me most about Vegas is that there are slot machines right after you exit the airplane with people actually playing there... from that point on I knew I was in the craziest city in the world

I've been several times to Macau. Big casinos, nice hotel rooms... But you really don't get the same atmosphere than in Vegas for instance. It's mainly outside of the casinos, there's no much attractions. It's also because when you play in Macau, you're surrounded by loud Chinese people dressed like hobos, and people come bother you every 5 minutes asking you if they can insert their card into your machine so that they can get some of your money... That's just weird and annoying...

What a cheek. They would clearly be told where to stick their card and that would certainly not be in the machine I was playing!

I have been in Vegas last year, but I do not play too much in my local casino. Even though I like the atmosphere, its like a 1,5 hour ride and I find it more relaxing to play in underpants

    ... No comment!

I used to go to "real" casinos about once a month... until I discovered online is WAY better (for SO many reasons).
Last time I went was about 3 years ago to the "Rendezvous" in Brighton Marina; I can't say it was that enjoyable - the minimum bets are too high and the other wanky players are too slow!

Been to Vegas 3 times, the last was 2004 though. Absolutely LOVE the place - not for the gambling per-se (the odds are not the best there)...
but the whole Vegas Experience is totally unbeatable IMHO...
