That's how I started online - betting on horses was the only reason I bought my first 'internet ready' PC in 2001.
But like you said, patience is the key - and I just didn't have enough of it (like most gamblers! ). I found I had to study the form data for 1-2 hours just to pick 1 or 2 horses - just too damn tedious & boring!
(My 'system' was working, but was just too darned slow)

So I started playing casinos, and after a stupid money-wasting start I taught myself how to beat them. Yes they are games of luck, but money management & certain playing strategies can make it a profitable venture - as I have proved for the last 5 years!
