All this talk about poker etiquette and ray's excellent post has got me thinking.

This bad etiiquette happens all the time - i'm a culprit too, i love the high nonchelent chip toss, even though you're not meant to splah the pot - perhaps it'd be prudent for a week, a month, or even just at the final to somehow 'penalise' players if they repeatedly break the rules.

It'd have to be uniform acorss the board, but lets say you've 'raised' but not announced it, the third time you do it you're penalised the equivelant of the small blind etc... same if you're not following the action, third strike you donate to the pot, same if you say 'ooh there's three of a suit' etc.

i'm not sure of the best way to implement this. maybe a chip fine isn't the best way, perhaps a time penalty or something similar?

these penalties would make players who are violating the rules learn quickly!!
