Why not just multiply the points you get for the position by the number of runners?

You may have to lower the points per position as you'll end up with some pretty big numbers otherwise, but that will be a quick and simple way of taking finish and number of runners into account... So...
If you get 100 points for winning and there's 30 runners you get 3000 points. If there's 45 runners you get 4500.

Yes, it means that the smaller fields will get less points, but that's poker. They've not had to do as much to win so the prize is relative, just as in a real event.
